You can help in lots of different ways. Below is a list of the essential
tasks which must be performed if Greenwave is to keep going. If you feel you can help, contact Duncan MacDuffie by email, or by phone on +44 (0) 1223 247701.
Production:
- Writing articles, poems, letters etc., a getting these on to discs compatible with the computer used for typesetting the magazine.
- Drawing or supplying non-copyright illustrations and pasting these on to the master copies used for printing the magazine.
- Contacting past and potential authors for material and encouraging and helping them to make contributions.
- Contacting past and possible advertisers helping them produce the material for their advert. if necessary, and getting this into a suitable form for the magazine.
- Ensuring that prepaid advertisements set to run beyond the Winter 97/98 issue are inserted in as many subsequent issues as necessary without further charge. (If the final circulation figures for this issue are much lower than previous issues I think we should allow an extra insertion free of charge also).
- Choosing which articles should appear in which issues, if we have a surplus!
- Maintaining up to date lists of the Networks and Natural Health Listings and ensuring that these are put in the next issue.
- Proofreading the text and checking the other material.
- Typesetting the magazine.
- Printing and collating the magazine or arranging for this to be done.
Distribution:
- Maintaining a list of outlets (currently 39)
- distributing the magazine to all these (in and around Cambs.) at the same time collecting all monies due (usually in cash) and recording and banking this.
- Mailing the magazine to all subscribers, sending out expiry notices when due, and keeping up to date subscription records.
Finance:
- Paying all invoices, issuing receipts as necessary and keeping records of cheques drawn in the proper manner.
- Dealing with petty cash expenses of team members etc. and keeping records.
- Banking and keeping records of any other transactions.
- Reconciling bank statements accounts regularly.
- Preparing regular balance sheets for the team to inspect.
